Burrowing Owlets, 2 Month Update & Video

At two months old, the three Burrowing Owl chicks have taken on their adult coloring and are flying. They have received their first of three rounds of West Nile Virus vaccines and once they are finished, will transition into their Animal Ambassador roles with the Interpretive Center (our education outreach department).

For now, keepers are training them to jump up on their hands and get used to the leather glove that they will stand on. It is important for the owls to become used to spending time with the trainers and receiving special food treats for participating in the training sessions.
